Dan is an innovative researcher and out-of-the-box thinker.

He belongs to Finnish Mensa organization and is a quick learner. He has business oriented, persistent, and innovative mindset when doing research and finding new ways to go forward.

He's a linux network, services, and OS administration guru. He maintained and built multiple web sites with email, DNS, samba, postgreSQL, firewall, etc. earlier. He knows open source world, TCP/IP, and has used the respective tools successfully with many projects. Dan knows programming languages and web service architectures, also the future internet architecture paradigms.

He has published articles, holds some patents and tens of patent applications. He got Nokia Inventor of the year 2007-2008 award. He has worked in challenging international industry standardization in 3GPP (security working group, SA3) and he led the LTE security standardization work, also technical, inside Nokia. In the past he also participated IETF standardization. Dan has led and participated many research projects inside Nokia Research Center. Before Nokia he was part of the Dynamics - HUT Mobile IPv4 team and did master's thesis related to WLANs with Dynamics. See more on the publications page.

Dan is looking for new challenges, consulting offers, participation in high quality research groups, startups, etc. via his own company. He likes different sports, especially running, boxing, and beach volley. Next summer's goal is to run marathon.. (next summer is always ahead ;).

Dan is Christian by hearth and among other things actively participates in organizing Alpha courses in Helsinki.
